Peace: Finding Calm in the Midst of Pain
When grief comes, peace often feels impossible. The silence after loss can be deafening. Yet, peace is not the absence of pain—it is the presence of God in the midst of it.
I remember when I first realized my son was gone. The pain was unbearable. But slowly, peace came—not through forgetting my sorrow, but by trusting that the same God who gave him to me was now holding him.
Peace comes as a whisper, reminding us that love never leaves. If you’re searching for peace today, let your heart rest in the arms of the One who cradles both you and the one you miss.
Reflection Prompt:
Where have you seen peace show up quietly in your own storms?
Power
Power: Strength When You Feel Weak
Grief takes your breath away. It weakens the body, spirit, and will. I thought I had no strength left when my son died. But power came in the most unexpected way—through my weakness.
Like Mary at the foot of the cross, I stood broken but not alone. God’s grace lifted me one sunrise at a time. His strength became mine.
True power is not pretending to be strong—it’s leaning on God’s strength when ours is gone. If you’re walking through brokenness, know that divine power is available to you, even when you can’t stand on your own.
Reflection Prompt:
In what areas of life can you surrender your weakness and lean on God’s strength?
Purpose
Purpose: Turning Pain into Meaning
It’s hard to imagine purpose in loss. How could anything good come from the death of my child? Yet over time, I began to see that his short life still had lasting meaning.
Purpose doesn’t erase pain, but it transforms it. My son’s story pushes me to live with compassion, to comfort the brokenhearted, and to remind others that love never dies.
Your purpose may be hidden in the very places you’ve felt broken. Don’t bury it—plant it. Out of pain can grow healing, hope, and new life.
Reflection Prompt:
How might your own struggles carry seeds of purpose for others?
Promise
Promise: Hope That Endures Forever
When everything feels lost, the promises of God are what we cling to. For me, John 3:16 is no longer just a familiar verse—it is my lifeline.
God gave His Son so that we could have eternal life. That truth assures me that my son’s life is not wasted, and my grief is not in vain. There is hope beyond this moment—hope that death does not win.
Every tear we cry is seen, every loss redeemed. The promise of eternity means we will see our loved ones again. That promise is for you, too.
Reflection Prompt:
What promise from Scripture helps you hold on during life’s hardest days?

Thank you for the words of encouragement.
