Holy Week: Finding Faith in the Unexpected

Easter Sunday: The Final Answer

Focus: Victory over the storm

There are moments in life that feel like the end of the story. Moments where loss feels final…Where grief feels overwhelming…Where the outcome feels so unexpected, it almost seems unreal.

When my friend, Paula passed less than two years after my son, Randolph, the weight of it felt unbearable. At the time, it even felt like a cruel April Fools’ joke—too sudden, too much, too soon. But Easter gently—and powerfully—reminds us of this truth:

What feels like the end… is not the final answer.

The cross was not the end. The grave was not the end. The silence was not the end.

On the third day, everything changed. The stone was rolled away. The grave was empty. Life overcame death. And in that moment, God declared once and for all:

Death does not have the final word.

The storms…The silence…The “no”…The waiting…

None of it was wasted. It was all leading here. As Paula would say in the midst of a thunderstorm, "God is moving the furniture around!"

The furniture has been moved. The room is ready. And because He lives…we have hope that extends beyond what we can see.

We have assurance that love continues. We have confidence that life—eternal life—belongs to us and to those we love.

So today, we don’t just remember the Resurrection…

We live in its promise.

Reflective Proclamation: He is Risen indeed!

HE IS RISEN!
HE IS RISEN!
